Kinahmin Tuvat ja Tarinat is a rural tourism company located in Nilsiä in the Finnish Lakeland area. The location is ideal; it's only 30 minutes from the Kuopio airport, 15 minutes to the ski and golf resort Tahko and 10 minutes to the centre of Nilsiä. The farm has been active since the 18th century. Traditional agriculture has nowadays been extended to include hospitable accommodation.

There are two spacious holiday houses by the lake and a petite picturesque cottage on the Kinahmi hill. Beautiful holiday houses called Huiluutupa and Kalliotupa are equipped with all modern conveniences. Calm and attractive surroundings by the lake offer a pleasant holiday experience. It’s only 100 m to hiking and cross-country skiing trails and fishing possibilities are also available.

Kalliotupa (6+6 persons)

Mäkitupa

Mäkitupa -cottage is a wonderful place to spend an evening or two in the middle of nature. It is a picturesque cottage with a fantastic panorama and is located on the top of Kinahmi hill (314 m high). Imagine lodging in a snowy landscape and sleeping by a warm stove or summer hiking in the most wondrous landscape of the eastern Finland.

Cultural heritage and stories of the old days

There are preserved and refurbished old buildings on the farm. The oldest part of the ranch house was built in 1813 and the stone byre in 1906. The sheds date from the 19th century. On a tour you can see traditional tools and farm machinery. There are also old clothing accessories and items, which all have many interesting stories to tell. All items are at least 50 years old and there are altogether over 700 articles. Duration of the tour is 1-1,5 hours. A shed tour and coffee with homemade pastries in the traditional 100 year old cabin are available by reservation only for groups from 5 to 50 persons.
